What DSM does, screen by screen
DSM is institution management software built on Odoo. It covers student records, teaching, finance and staff, on a single student database.
Eight areas, one system
Each area matches modules in service at the institutions already running DSM.
Applications and enrolment
Applications, files, supporting documents, approval, student number allocation, re-enrolment from one year to the next.
Student records
Student and parent records, classes and groups, progression, certificates and official documents.
Teaching
Programmes and subjects for Classic tracks, course maps, teaching units and course units for LMD, configurable semesters per level.
Grades and reports
Grade entry, averages, examination boards, Classic report cards, LMD transcripts and minutes.
Finance
Tuition fees, payment schedules per file, counter payments, reminders, collection, invoicing and accounting.
Teaching staff
Teaching contracts, hours, hourly fee notes for visiting lecturers, lecturer workspace.
School life
Registers and attendance, absences and late arrivals, discipline, student cards and access control, transport.
Portals and management
Student, parent and lecturer spaces from a phone, dashboards for headcount, collection and results.
Three screens that show the difference
Captured on the demonstration database, not on a real institution.
LMD course map
Teaching units, course units, credits and hours. The same application handles BTS programmes on the Classic track alongside it.
Lecturer fee note
Hours taught are pulled in automatically, the hourly rate depends on the type of session, and the total becomes a purchase invoice.
Tuition reminders
Unpaid fees are chased on a schedule, every message is logged, and doubt benefits the student.
What DSM does not do
Better to know before the demonstration than after signing.
- No artificial intelligence. No automatic timetable generation, no predictive analytics, no chatbot. DSM detects room conflicts; it does not build your timetable for you.
- No online payment. The seven Ivorian payment methods are recorded at the counter with their transaction reference. Students cannot pay from their phone.
- No mobile app. The student, parent and lecturer portals are web pages, usable from a phone, but there is nothing to install from an app store.
- No Microsoft, Moodle or Zoom integration. The real integrations are SMS through the Orange API and access control readers.
The best way to judge is still to see it
Forty-five minutes, on how you actually work, with no commitment.
